What I build
Tools for messy operational work
Most of my work is about making complicated processes easier to inspect: evidence, edge cases, review decisions, and the interfaces people use to move from uncertainty to action.
About
I am Ethan, also Jianxu Pan, a founding engineer at Pax AI. I work on product infrastructure for duty drawback: trade data, customs rules, review flows, and the software that makes the work easier to trust.
What I build
Most of my work is about making complicated processes easier to inspect: evidence, edge cases, review decisions, and the interfaces people use to move from uncertainty to action.
What I know from the inside
I spend time around duty drawback, tariff refunds, manufacturing records, customs broker workflows, and the small details that decide whether software is actually useful.
What belongs here
This site is for artifacts that explain how I think: small tools, practical essays, experiments, and notes from the build. The biography is here only as context for the work.
